07/09/16 East wind with the incoming tide made for a very good drift today. Started in the same area we have been fishing recently. All of the other head boats ran back to Sandy Hook Bay after about 15 minutes! WHY??? Anyway, we drifted perfect and banged away at the fluke much of the morning until the bite finally died. Headed back closer to home to try another area and managed a few shorts and keepers to finish the day. John Vanderstad, Pompton Lakes, NJ, took the pool with a 6 pound fish. Much better forecast for tomorrow. See you in the morning.
