A mere 3 1/2 pounds could mean hundreds of thousands in  pay-offs for the tuna division of the White Marlin Open at Ocean City, Md. as the 236.5-pound bigeye boated on Rich Kosztu's Hubris took over first in tuna from Magic Moment and a potential $400,000. In watching the marlin cam, I believe a crew member said they lost steering and had to be towed in. There was also a change in dolphin as Sea Wolf brought in a 36-pounder to pull ahead of the 34.5-pound leader on Delta Dawn. No Service, which got dropped to fifth in tuna, weighed a 40.5-pound wahoo for third in that category.  MJ's, a bigeye specialist, instead posted the first shark -- a 260.5-pounder. After a great weather start, there may be rougher seas with south winds for last two days.
