8/29/16: I'm not one to wish my life away but "That was one hot summer!" And, we can all agree, we are happy it's almost over! Of course, the kids may say differently. Even with the hot temps, a lot of people came out with us on the boat. Some of the afternoon trips we would have a cool breeze out there, and it was like heaven, and other days with no wind at all it was like, well you know. Overall the fishing wasn't too bad. I've seen a lot worse. The driftless days we would stay around structure, and we seem to pull a lot of nice fish from that area. As soon as we would get some wind, we would go up the beach and put her on a drift and sure enough we would find some small pods of nice fluke. Plenty of shorts to keep you awake to, and skates and robins! We started filleting the bigger robins and telling people to try them, the response was great! They are good! The fishing has slowed up a bit, Saturday afternoon was the last real good day. We have some tropical systems that are causing a swell, so the fish are snuggling down. But they will bite again shortly.

This is our last week of the two 4-hour trips. Starting Monday, September 5 (Labor Day), we will be starting the one 6-hour trip! We have until Sept 25 to get the last of our fluking in, and usually that's our best time! Providing we don't get any major storms, it should be good. We are looking forward to it as much as you! See you at sea.
