The first blue marlin to make the 400-pound minimum in the MidAtlantic at Cape May and Ocean City, Md. was weighed by Anthony De Marco of South Brunswick from his Fantasea at 432 pounds. However, it won't be a big money winner as that boat wasn't in any of the Calcuttas. There were 135 boats out of the 157-boat field fishing in fine weather Wednesday as white marlin were abundant. Three almost identical whites fought it out for second place. MR Ducks 68-pounder is projected currently at $226,149, and Sea Wolf had another that size  that's valued at $195,919. Just one pound back is Theresa Jean with a white that could bring $158,860. Another pound back at 66 pounds is Latitude, and Pat Healy weighed a 65-pounder on Viking 70 from New Gretna that's in line for $124,644. The 77-pound white on MJOLNIR is still in line for over a million dollars, but Reel Addiction's 65-pounder from Tuesday got knocked back. Daily leaders in releases were Billfisher with 12 whites and one blue marlin; Makara with 10 whites; and Barry Weshnak's Miss Annie with nine whites. Quite a few tellowfins were weighed, but none were over the 76-pounder that holds third behind yesterday's two large bigeyes. Peter Cherasia's Shark Byte from Rumson weighed a second place 64-pound wahoo.
