9/12/16: The boat finally got out fishing starting on Thursday, what a shame we lost a whole week! And there are only two weeks left! The water was dirty, like stirred up still from the storm, so we went deeper to fish. The first day we found a few nice fish so we went back the following day and the fluke started biting! Nice size fish, largest going 9.3 lbs, and a lot of 4- and 5-lbs. Still a lot of shorts but I would have to say it was about the best fluking we have seen all year. Saturday the wind came back up out of the southwest and put a damper on it for Sunday. We fish inshore on Sunday and low and behold a few nice keepers were caught, (guess they didn't all leave yet). Plus a lot of blues were around Sunday, in the 1- to 2-lb range.

The weather looks like it's finally straightened out for this week and there is no time to lose! Let's get out a few more times before the season closes and try to get back what mother nature took from us last week. Sept 25 is the last day of fluking and after that the boat won’t be sailing until October 22, for sea bass. We are sailing the one six-hour trip, 8 am to 2-2:30pm. Let's see you on board, and finally enjoy the cool breeze and the September harvest, see you at sea!
