The N.J. Outdoor Alliance sent out the following alert today: MAFMC PUBLIC HEARINGS ON SQUID   ACTION ALERT-FORAGE FISH NEED PROTECTION! NJOA MEMBERS PLEASE RESPOND. The Mid-Atlantic Fishery Management Council is holding public hearing on evaluating management measures for longfin squid. They will be held today and tomorrow:   May 2nd   Congress Hall, 200 Congress Place, Cape May 5:00-7:00 PM   May 3rd   Double Tree by Hilton, 700 Hope Road, Tinton Falls 5:00-7:00 PM   Squid are a critical component of our sportfish ecosystem. Please attend one of the meetings or write in your comments.       Paul Eidman, JCAA Forage Fish Chairman offers the following:   "Squid are very important forage to many species that matter to me and the State of NJ like Striped Bass and Bluefish including ones you might not think of like summer flounder. A healthy abundant squid population is critical to Atlantic economies and ecosystems. We need to leave enough in the water to ensure healthy populations for future generations."
