Bluefishing improved on Sunday, but the Memorial Day weather kept most anglers ashore. After tough bluefish jigging on Saturday, Capt. Dave Riback was happily surprised at the good action with small blues from his Queen Mary out of Point Pleasant on Sunday. He also got into some big stripers on the Magic Hours trip. Scott Leadbeater of Haddon Heights and his father Hal ran their Aquasport from Atlantic Highlands to Flynn's Knoll on Sunday for a hot bite of big blues on bunker chunks. Smooth dogfish took over for awhile, but a short move got them into blues again. There was one angler who took advantage of the northeast wind. Bob Matthews reported from Fisherman's Den in Belmar Marina that Chris Pictner of Levittown, Pa. fished clams in the Belmar surf to hook five stripers up to 10 pounds.   Mathews also noted that fluking has been very good in Shark River. He's weighed fluke up to 6 pounds so far. The Big Mohawk from that marina has been doing well with sea bass, and will be sailing for them at 6 a.m. Tuesday. On Wednesday at the same time they'll be concentrating on fluke.   Capt. Ryan Bogan of Jamaica II from Brielle reports "Excellent sea bass fishing this Memorial Day Weekend. Full boat limit on opening day and very good fishing Saturday with many limits of sea bass up to 5  pounds. A few names with limits: Charley Scire, Lakewood; Eng Lian, Teaneck; Ray Bryant, South Orange; Mack Dubois Bristol, Pa.; Greg Stewart, Manahawkin; Jim Thorn, Trenton; Dave Williams, Camden.   Our daily all day schedule ends Memorial Day when we switch to half-day trips daily except Mondays.
