5/30/17: The Memorial weekend started with a bang but ended like a slug! The opener of sea bass was Friday, and if you had good sea legs, that WAS definitely a plus! Fishing was good but there was a price to pay! Big swell and hard currents but the fishing was good! There was a few guys with limits of 10 and some with 5 or more plus , but under the conditions it was good fishing. The pool winner was Uncle Bob Wallace of South Hampton, NJ with a 3.5-lb sea bass.

The nice day was Saturday, but it was almost too nice! Still a hard current running from the north and barely any wind, it was very hard to anchor. Still, we had some good fish with a nice pool winner from Tabernacle NJ, Jerry Farley with a beautiful 4-lb sea bass.

Sunday was the same, nice weather with difficult anchoring conditions, and the fishing was a little slower. We feel the fish are there but with the cooling water conditions and the currents, it definitely put a damper on the bite.

The CAIII will be running daily throughout the season, and running for sea bass the next couple of weeks, until the June 18 closure of sea bass. Then the CAIII will be running for fluke after that date. Of course as of July 1 you can keep two sea bass and fluke!

Don't be fooled by the complications of the politics, we are all tired of the drama series! WE have been sailing for over 50 years, taking families out fishing, groups from all over the tri-state area, and will will continue! WE will sea you at sea!
