The Jamaica from Brielle had another day of hot jigging for bonito and bluefish as even those not experienced n that fishing caught plenty of fish. A few Spanish mackerel were mixed in. The Golden Eagle from Belmar has been bottom fishing, and had a boat limit of sea bass (two per man) today plus many releases. However, they will be switching to blues and bonito tomorrow. Capt. Ron Santee said fluking on his Fishermen from Atlantic Highlands was picky today, but another big fluke (8 3/8 pounds) took the pool. Bob Matthews reports from Fisherman's Den in Belmar Marina that Scott Box of Edison caught a 25-inch fluke in Shark River plus a short striper and a bluefish. Capt. Stan Zagleski filed the following report from his Elaine B. II from Bahrs in Highlands. Good people, rewarding day August 14, 2017   After a BIG ground swell and FAST drift yesterday, the Monday crew had much better conditions to deal with today with better results.  There was only a little  swell today  which made the fluke more aggressive for the guys and gals who worked both the natural baits as well as the Gulps and/or Spros.  Plenty of shorts with quality keepers in the mix. Most had no problem taking home a couple of quality sea bass and a fluke or two.  Ken and Melanie, Springfield, NJ, fished hard, as always, and took another pool for their efforts.  Back at it tomorrow.  See you in the morning.
