Capt. Dave De Gennaro has had consistent action while chumming for mostly brown sharks in the 3-to-5-foot range with fairly light tackle from his Hi Flier out of Barnegat within five miles of the inlet.  On combo trips he then moves into the bay for a hot bite of mostly short fluke. The Monday morning trip produced seven browns for his sons, and the results were the same in the afternoon for the Mike Fuhrman party  which added fluke of 19 inches and a 25-inch, 6 1/2-pounder for Erin Foose of Cumberland, Md.  Shorts outnumber keepers 30 to one, but there's plenty of action. De Gennaro says the weather is shaping up for open trips offshore Sunday and Monday as he has reports of 20-to-60-pound tuna just 45 miles offshore. Capt. Ron Santee said fluking from his Fishermen out of Atlantic Highlands wasn't as good as yesterday, but there were some big fluke topped by 8 5/8-pounder. Capt. Stan Zagleski reported the swell didn't seem to hurt fluking from his Elaine B II from Bahrs in Highlands. Rick Kelly of Piscaraway had a limit up to the 6-pound pool winner. The Golden Eagle from Belmar reported it was mostly chub mackerel today along with "a few blues and some bonito".
