Due to a poor weather forecast, it's likely that most party boats will not sail on Thursday. He sure to call your favorite skipper before coming down. The Golden Eagle from Belmar has cancelled for Thursday, though they had good fishing today for 2-to-8-pound blues along with some bonito, little tunny and porgies -- plus a Spanish mackerel.  This week's tuna trip produced six yellowfins in the 70-to-90-pound class with six more lost. Despite a marginal weather forecast, they had good conditions. Their last canyon trip is on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.. Some spaces are available by reservation. The boat is chartered Saturday. The Mimi VI from Point Pleasant is sailing open for bottom fishing at 7 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Call 732 370-8019 to reserve a spot. A Hudson Canyon trip is set for Oct. 30 at 7 a.m. The big one got away from me this morning in Shark River. Only a few cocktail blues had been raised when I hooked a much better fish on a Tactical Anglers Bomb Jr. popper. It took line off a tough drag, and felt like it was snagged in the strong incoming current before it cut me off on an obstruction. Jim Louro of Spring Lake released a couple of small blues on a popper, while Vinny D'Anton caught one and raised others on a Chug Bug.l
