2ND PLACE SHILLELAGH TOURNAMENT AND FLUKE RESULTS Details Created on Monday, 14 August 2017 22:34 Written by Capt. Ron Fluke fishing has really been heating up. The last few trips produced a lot of quality fish with many limits. We fished the Shillelagh Tournament saturday 8/12 and finished in 2ND place, literally losing first by an ounce! Heartbreaking but the guys did a hell of a job! se have openings this upcoming Saturday for fluke, and are always available for charter! 7328415041   Saturday report 2nd place Shillelagh tournament: Had out Joe z, Mike Reynolds, Dave and crew returning for the second year. Real shitty conditions made for very tough fishing so the capt kept the stern into it the whole time to help slow down the drift and minimize the rocking. Had some fish right off the bat but then it slowed. Just picked a fish here and there and made a lot of moves and worked a bunch of areas. A couple really nice fish were dropped in the morning as well. Late in the day joe hooks up. And the whole way up with the fish he kept saying "it's a ray. There's no head shake, oh I just got a wing shake! Capt brought us to the ray grounds." And of course when it gets to the surface everyone's mouth drops and we scramble for the net. Kept that fish cold all the way to the scales and came in at 8.4 lbs, lost first place by 1 ounce! It sucks but second isn't all that bad. Thanks again to the crew for putting in 110% today and never leaving the rail. Big fish was also caught on a 4 oz. sharkbite round head jig from the one and only mike Reynolds   Sunday 8/13 fluke report: Had a great day of fishing, and would have been even better if conditions we had first thing in the morning never changed. Beatriz had her limit by the first drift, no surprise there! But after a few drifts we lost all conditions until the wind kicked up. Boxed up our boat limit by 930 but tried for a couple more hours for a trophy fish but it didn't happen. Beatriz had the big one today at 6.5lbs. Tried a few areas for seabass but kept finding pins everywhere we went. Still a decent day. We have openings Saturday for fluke. Chartered Sunday
