Recent Fluke and Excellent PORGY fishing Details Created on Tuesday, 08 August 2017 21:49 Written by Capt. Ron Fishing has been very good, whether its for fluke, porgy, or ling. Fishing north, south, and east of our inlet has been doing very well for us. Only a couple minutes from the ocean, one of the closest boats. We are also always available for charter for everything, including tuna.  Fri 7/28 LING: Had Jason and his work colleagues out Friday for some ling. Trip was originally supposed to be during seabass season but kept getting postponed due to weather. It was a really nice day out today, but a little too nice and made for tough anchoring conditions. Had to bounce around a little bit. Few spots had some life and then would die off. One area we couldn't even touch because every inch of it was potted. Last wreck proved to be the best with drop and reel fishing until we headed in. Wound up with a keeper blackfish, a few whiting, a very large 4 spot(biggest I've ever seen) and 135 ling. Flounder were nowhere to be found today, a little odd, but the guys were able to stuff the cooler and had a good day.   Sat 8/5 fluke: Great Saturday Fluke Had out capt ed, dave, Beatriz Soto , and 3 generations of Dan's today. Had a pretty good day overall. Lost the drift late morning and by days end the wind was cranking pretty good and had a pretty quick drift. Worked one area all day and had steady action up to daves 6lber who had his limit plus, and Beatriz had one just shy of 6lbs and was HH today with almost a triple limit. Ended the day just 2 short of the boat limit.   Sun 8/6: Was supposed to head offshore but the forecast wasn't looking good in the morning so we were able to get a couple to go fluke fishing. Went where we had em the day before and boy what a difference a day makes. By the second drift we had 4 keepers, 3 of em at the same exact time and then the boat traffic came and it shut down. We bounced around quite a bit looking for a patch of fish and then the drift got pretty fast and then by days end we lost all conditions. The 4 of us wound up with 7 keeper nothing big. We have 4 spots open for Friday for fluke rest of the weekend is full.   Mon 8/7 : MONDAY slam dunk PORGY FISHING/HAPPY BIRTHDAY CAPT ED! Had out capt ed today for his birthday along with Shawn and Eric. Only took us 2 areas to find where they were hiding and it was game on after that. Only dull moment was during the change of tide. Weather held out for us, including rain, until it was time to head in. Easy boat limit today so we were able to keep bigger ones and toss back the 10 and 11 inchers. Also had a bunch around 18 inches which was a nice surprise. Next openings are Friday 8/11 for fluke, 4 spots left
