Atlantic Highlands porgy fishing October 6

Made both morning and afternoon trips for porgies again today. There was a pretty strong south wind this morning so I tried a spot in the bay where it would not be rough before heading out to where we fished yesterday. I talked to some boats that were in that area and they said it was not nice. We stayed in the bay and had a steady pick of short porgies and some nice size keepers. We also picked at snapper blues, some blowfish and a couple keeper weakfish. On the afternoon trip I told everyone that we would not be fishing in the ocean because it would be rough and we would be fishing in the bay. We went back to where we fished in the morning and again we had steady action with short porgies and some keepers plus snapper blues and some blowfish.  It was not great fishing but everyone enjoyed the action and fishing where it was calm. We were very lucky to catch the porgies there today but they don't always bite there. There are some new pictures in the gallery from today. We are half day fishing for porgies everyday (weather permitting) making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). The weather for tomorrow does not look great but we should be able to fish. The rest of the week does not look good with a lot of easterly winds so watch the weather. Looking forward to seeing everyone on a nice day.
