Fishing news has been hard to come by since the northeaster, but a few surfcasters are returning to the beaches. Unfortunately, they're reporting the surf is still stained -- though fishable. Vinny D'Anton of Shark River Hills had a hopeful report from surf pro Frank Comstock who caught three small stripers during the middle of the morning at Sea Girt, but D'Anton went back there late in the day and had no hits.
The weekend weather looks decent, and there should be more anglers on the beaches while the remaining party boats are all likely to sail.
