Monday's southerly storm just about shut down fishing, but the forecast is better for Tuesday and some party boats may sail. Better check first before coming down.
The ocean was still very rough when I cast into the Mantoloking surf at dusk, and there was no sign of bass where I'd had some action the previous evening. In addition to the big waves on the outer bar, there was a strong current running to the north.
Mark Roy supplied the only other report as he fished the back of Raritan Bay with his Release Me from Raritan Marina. It was calm back there in the evening, but there was no sign of bait or bass.
