1000's of NJ Saltwater Fishing Reports, Dozens of Sources, Maps, Wrecks, Historical Search

Anglers have a special opportunity Saturday as famed angler and lure manufacturer Crazy Alberto Knie will be appearing at Dick's Sporting Goods, 70 Willow Brook Blvd. in Wayne. The crew of his new TV show will be on hand to introduce that project, and there will be door prizes plus a sample of Star Tron Fuel Treatment. The event begins at 1 p.m. Northwest winds gusting to over 30 mph kept most boats in port today, but the Golden Eagle from Belmar continued the search for ocean stripers. Though they were unable to jig them, some bass were marked and even spotted rolling on the surface. Much lighter winds are forecast, but it will start out colder than we've become used to.  The Jamaica from Brielle is sold out Saturday and Sunday. I didn't get any good surf reports today, though there was word that the large stripers encountered off Island Beach State Park a couple of days ago had moved south to Long Beach Island. Joe Melillo, at Castaways Tackle in Point Pleasant, said Mickey Sweeney of Howell got into some school bass at Spring Lake on teasers before dawn.
