Bob Matthews, at Fisherman's Den in Belmar Marina, reports dome large stripers were trolled north of the inlet today. He also noted that party boats are doing well with big blues and sea bass. The Canyon Runner fleet is still fishing the canyons out of Point Pleasant, and they have an opening on the Wednesday overnighter aboard the 60-foot Ritchie. Call Adam La Rosa at 732 272-4445. Allen Riley of South Plainfield and his brother Ed of Edison dished the Sea Bright surf this morning under good conditions. Allen caught a small blue before dawn on a Mann's Super Stretch 1-Minus, and added a few more plus a 29-inch striper later on a Tsunami Slimwave metal. Marc Foley of Hawthorne also caught a few small blues. I tried the Sea Girt surf in good conditions, but nothing went on there.
