Capt. Stan Zagleski continued his magical run with doormat fluke this year as the sixth fluke over 10 pounds was boated.Tom Hollywood Jr. of Staten Island was the happy angler as he hooked into an 11 pound, 3-ounce rug in the ocean on a Gulp tipped with spearing. Zagleski said the fishing was very good, just as was the case in yesterday's northwest wind when several limits were taken -- including one by Wayne Pinder of Red Bank that included the 7-pound pool winner. The Golden Eagle from Belmar had a good day with 10-to-15-pound blues plus some bonito and little tunny. Yesterday was similar in a rougher sea, but those targeting little tunny caught up to a dozen that trip. Miss Belmar Princess anchored on the edge of the Mud Hole this morning and built up bluefish in the chum slick all day. The choppers  ran from 8 to 17 pounds, and there were also little tunny plus a 10-pound dolphin. That boat is welcoming kids at no charge through Sept. 5 when accompanied by a paying adult on weekday day and night trips.  The Queen Mary from Point Pleasant will be running Mud Hole tuna trips by reservation on Sept. 30 and Oct. 7. The surf was way down from yesterday, and marginally fishable this morning when I tried it at Bay Head. There was lots of weed on the beach, but I was surprised to find that I picked up very little while casting metal. There wasn't a sign of bait or fish, but conditions should improve for the weekend.
