We finally got a wind direction other than south to go with a beautiful day. The best of our fishing for the day was this morning with the outgoing tide. We were able to get in a number of productive drifts before we finally lost the current and drift. The guys had more keepers than shorts today which was nice to see and most of the keepers were quality fish between 3 and 5 pounds. The bite with the incoming tide was slow for us. Dennis Ziober, Port Reading, NJ, had three nice fish up to 4 pounds. Some guys had a couple etc.. Ron Lempecke, Trenton, NJ, took the pool with a 5 pound 11 ounce fish. Shawn Phillips, Jr., Morristown, TN, got the best of his dad with a 5 pound 6 ounce fish of his own. Nice day with nice people and overall better sized fish than we have been seeing lately. Weather looks great for the next several days so enjoy it on the water.
