08/19/14 8.10 POUND POOL WINNER with other nice fish!!! The drift was way too fast to fish the ocean with a gusty east wind and incoming tide most of the day. Fished the next best area and were happy with the results that we found. Kept making the same drift over and over and had steady fishing with a good mix of shorts and keepers. Some ended up well with keepers while others had more shorts, but that is always the case. Spros/ gulps had the majority of the bigger fish today even with the pretty fast drift. Tom Hollywood Sr. & Jr., Staten Island, NY, teamed up for seven keepers with four of them being 5 pounds 5 ounces, 5 pounds 8 ounces, 7 pounds 3 ounces and the 8 pound 10 ounce pool fish for Tom Sr.!! Red Zisa, Totowa, NJ, had several keepers up to 5 pounds 3 ounces. Other nice fish were spread around the boat. There are lots of big fish still around now like there have been all season so get your shots at them now, they will not be around forever!! See you in the morning.
