08/05/14 Wind against tide right off the bat this morning. Had a few shorts and a couple keepers where we finished up yesterday but it was not good. Left the area looking for some drift but it took forever for it to start on the mussel beds. Lots of short action to keep everyone busy once it did but not enough keepers to make us happy. Ended the day where we finished yesterday and again had our best fishing of the day with a few shorts and a good shot of keepers for the time that we were there. Joe Nicholson, Garwood, NJ, took the pool on the last drift with a 5 pound 9 ounce fish. Al Waranis, Trenton, NJ, led the way with four keepers. Several of the regulars each wound up with three nice fish in their coolers on down while some could not find the right sized fish today. An off day for the bigger fish we have been seeing lately but that's fishing! See you in the morning--BE THERE EARLY.
