07/01/14 8+ POUND POOL FISH TODAY!! Started where we have been finding some beauties lately. Had good conditions for a couple of drifts first thing this morning but were only able to manage a handful of VERY NICE fish before the action died. Tried several different areas finding decent short action with a few more keepers the rest of the day. High hook ended up with three keepers, a few had a couple each etc.. Some NICE fish were caught, for sure, but just not enough for the good group of regulars today. Joe Stefanelli, Maplewood, NJ, had a couple of keepers including his personal-best 8 pound 2 ounce fish!! NICE FISH JOE!! Mike Healy, Highlands, NJ, had a nice 5 pound 9 ounce fish as his largest of the day and Dominick Marcantonio, East Hanover, NJ, had a 5 pound 6 ounce fish and Mike Porter, Clifton, NJ, had one just shy of 5 pounds.
