Keyport Harbor, NJ — Every day we’ll offer up a wake-up call that gives a quick review of the previous day and a preview of the current day.

Evening Schedule
We are sailing Wednesday and Thursday nights for fluke from 5pm to 9pm.

Life After Fluke Schedule – Beginning September 28th
The 2014 Fluke Season closes on September 27th. Beginning on the 28th our schedule will be as followed:

Wednesday – Porgies
Friday- Striped bass/Bluefish
Saturday – Porgies
Sunday – Porgies

Weekend Update: We had 5 days of east wind which simply shut down the fishing. The highlight of the weekend came on Sunday when June Benson landed a fish that looked like it was going to knock Doug Kay from the leader spot in the monthly pool. Unfortunately for June, it came in just 1 ounce short. Other notable catches were Linda Regan with a 6 pounder and Carm Patullo with a 5 pound fish.

Today’s schedule: We will be pulling out of the slip at 7:30am in pursuit of the keeper fluke.

Monday, August 25th

Location: Upper Raritan Bay
Tide: High 9:08am
Water Temp:  72.2 Degrees
Wind: W 4kts
Moon Phase: New Moon

Morning observations:

  • Finally! A different wind. After 5 days of blowing east, today it I out of the west. Nice!
  • One Flukemaster on board; Al Skowronski
  • We are coming down the home stretch in the monthly pool. Doug Kay is the only name that has appeared on the board this month. Can anyone take him down?!

What I’m watching: Change of wind hopefully sparks a bite. I’m looking for a little magic once we get the tide change.
