Pregame Show
Super fluking before the tide change yesterday. We caught a ton of fish. Some made out much better than others with the keeper ratio, but that’s fluking. Husband and wife team Nick and Rose Davidson both caught their limits, and there were a few others with 3 keepers. There were also a few that didn’t have a keeper, but that goes back to what I said, some anglers made out well with the ratio. Today we are going to head right back to where we had our best fishing. Perhaps we will be blessed with a better ratio. Who knows?

Conditions
Excellent conditions to start the day with the wind and tide together. Not so good after the tide change.

July Flukemaster Classic Update
There was a lead change in the monthly Flukemaster Pool yesterday. Bill Burns caught a 5 lb 10 oz fluke to take the top spot. The pot currently stands at $610.00.

First Drift
This is the third day in a row that we caught them on the first drift of the day. The conditions for fluking have been absolutely perfect before the tide change with the wind and tide together, and the fluke have been coming over the rail! High hook on this drift was Jerzy Pytel with 3 keepers up to 5 pounds, all caught using a Spro and pink Gulp. The only negative on the fishing is the keeper ratio, which is very low. We are running back up for another drift, but going to make this one slightly different in hopes of increasing the ratio.

Second Drift
Our second two hour drift. We are catching a ton of fish, but are suffering from a poor ratio. A few anglers are making out better than other with the keepers. Jerzy Pytel is one away from his limit, and JHam put his fourth keeper in the cooler as well. Not everyone is having success with the legal fluke. There are people who have caught upwards of 30 fish without a keeper or one keeper. . . On a side note, these fluke that are being caught are loaded with shrimp. They are spitting them up on the surface, on the deck, everywhere.

Third Drift
The same story the last three days. Once we get the flood current we lose the drifting conditions, and the bite dies off. The fish are still here. We just do not drift the same way.

Fourth Drift
We slow picked at the fish, drifting across the channel into the flats, catching a few keepers and some shorts. Mark McQuaid put a fiesty 5 pounder in the boat on this one, and there are still two angler looking to go the distance. Only one more drift to do it!

Postgame
The fluke bit again today. Top notch fluking! The only negative was the keeper ratio. There were a few people who caught over 30 fish. Two angler, Jerzy Pytel and Jham tied for high hook with 4 keepers, and Mark McQuaid tied Mike Butler for the pool with a pair of 5 1/4 pound fluke. Let’s do it again tomorrow!
