Evening Schedule
Our evening schedule has changed. We are sailing Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings for fluke at 5pm.

Monday, July, 7th

Location: Raritan Bay
Tide: Low 9:55m
Water Temp:  74.4 Degrees
Wind: W 8 kts
Moon Phase: 71% Full

Pregame Show
We found a good body of fish in our neck of the woods yesterday, however, once the tide changed, it was game over because of wind against tide conditions. Today we will have an extra hour of the outgoing water, combined with a nice westerly breeze should make for a good start. The key to success this morning will simply be, do not leave the rail!! That is because much like yesterday, once we get the flood tide, it will be over!

Conditions
Excellent conditions to start the day with the wind and tide together. Not so good after the tide change.

July Flukemaster Classic Update
There was a lead change in the monthly Flukemaster Pool yesterday. Bill Burns caught a 5 lb 10 oz fluke to take the top spot. The pot currently stands at $610.00.

First Drift
We got ‘em! Terrific drift to start the day. High hook caught 3 keepers. There were also a couple of 5 pounders caught. Running up for another drift. We should be able to get another drift or two in before the tide change.

Second Drift
Very good again! We have our first limit since the opening week of the season, and there are two other people one away. The bad news is the current has slowed and soon will be changing. We are going to struggle once that happens.

Third Drift
We milked this drift as long as we could until the flood tide reached us. This was excellent fishing up till this drift. It’s going to difficult for the remainder of the day with the wind against tide conditions.

Fourth Drift
There is a little south to the westerly wind. We tried using it to get some float by catching the bow very slightly with the breeze. We did cover a little ground, but not enough. Slow picking at mostly shorts now.

Fifth Drift
We now have our second limit of the day!. . . Like I have mentioned numerous times already, the wind against tide conditions have made for difficult fluking. Instead of drifting from the west to the east, we now drift from the south to the north. The only time we catch the fish is when we go over the edge they are laying on. When we pass it we catch a couple of fish and that’s it. Going to continue to be difficult, but t is what it is.

Postgame
We had excellent fishing up until the tide change. There were two limits, Nick and Rose Davidson, and multiple people with 3 keepers. Looking forward to tomorrow!
