Location: Raritan Bay
Tide: Low 10:46am
Water Temp:  71.2 Degrees
Wind: ENE 6 kts
Moon Phase: 22%  Waning

Pregame Show
The big story this morning is Flukemaster Classic Pool. Yesterday Carmine Mangini caught a 8lb 4oz fluke to create the first ever tie in the monthly pool. With the pot nearing $1,100.00 you can bet that there will be an all out assault this week with anglers looking to blow the two Carm’s fish out of the water. With all the baby beasts that have been caught over the past couple of weeks there is no reason not to believe that a new leader can’t happen. In the words of Tom Tozzi, an angler who is onboard today, “I’m here to destroy it!!!”. Words well said!

Conditions
Sinker up!! The conditions will be fast with the little bit of wind out of the NE pushing us with the current.

May/June Flukemaster Classic Update
Carmen Patullo and Carmine Mangini share the lead with a pair of 8lb 4oz fish. The pot now stands at $1,050.00.

First Drift
The drifting conditions were fast, but that was expected. Once everyone was acclimated we picked away at the fluke with a 6 1/4 pounder leading the way.

Second Drift
Natural bait is key so far today. It is easily outfishing jigs. . . A few more keepers and a good amount of short activity.

Third Drift
We have officially been bombarded by the small boater. Going to break away and move to a different location to the north about 3/4 of a mile.

Fourth Drift
BOOM! We caught a dozen fish all at once including a 6lb 13oz fluke. Nice!!

Fifth Drift
Not  much on this one. We are going to move inshore and make a drop in some holes that are there. We caught the fluke well here last week, and haven’t touched it since. Maybe we can pull a few out.

Sixth Drift
I used the word “Grind” in yesterday’s report, and that is exactly how to describe the fishing today. Each drift we catch a few shorts, and there are a couple of keepers mixed in. On this drift we stopped  the boat and immediately caught 3 fish between 4 and 5 1/2 pounds. Then we didn’t see another keeper the remainder of the drift. We are going to make this one again based on the size of the fish that made the bucket.

Seventh Drift
It has been a struggle since the tide change. We made this one in the Reach and caught three fish including a keeper. Grind
