We finally kicked off the Canyon Runner's 2014 canyon season and already have 3 trips in the books on the 48 Viking and Capt. Mark added a couple more on private boat trips. And we already have 4 big-eyes under the Captain's belts and one huge 97" mako on it's way to the scales!

We started Friday with an open boat overnighter to the Hudson and those folks finished up with 7 yellowfin and 100# bluefin and missed 2 makos at night. Sunday to Monday's trip saw Capt. Dean's first two big-eyes of the year (although small ones) plus a handful of yellowfin and a bunch of sharks at night. Capt. Mark fishing a private boat tutorial trip out of Barnegat Sunday nailed two very decent big-eyes and pulled the hook on a third in only a few hours of trolling on a day trip. The two he kept were 150 pounds each.

Capt. Dean is still out right now with a 97" mako in the boat that we are hoping pushes 375# - he also had well over a dozen yellowfin and a couple nice bluefin.
