Went out with a good crew today as it was the first weather window in a long time. Our Charter left from Point Pleasant NJ.  Ran to the local canyon and fished through the night with about 15-20 other boats. Pretty bumpy ride out but really settled down by afternoon and the evening was beautiful for the charter. Had Ari, Luke, Jamie, and brother Kurt and Bobby and our mate rob on board. Two of the charter had never been offshore before so was really trying to get them on the meat. With no reports as of late as noone had fished we started off on troll with nothing to show but weeds. Setup on the chunk around 6-7 PM with the guys jigging as well when marking. Alot of life around the boat, and we got covered by a huge school of mahi during the evening. They stuck around for a while and we got our pick of about 15. Had two makos on during the night as well on the sword lines but they didnt make it to the boat. Around 4 AM we landed a sword. Early AM we had a couple run offs that didnt come tight and managed one that did which yielded a 85-90 lb yft. Shortly after another longfin on the jig. Worked the area some more but with another charter leaving that afternoon headed into the barn and got there around 1230 PM. Tough fishing, but got some good meat and we are back at it again the next two days.
