1000's of NJ Saltwater Fishing Reports, Dozens of Sources, Maps, Wrecks, Historical Search

After an amazing day of December blitz fishing in the surf, there were no positive reports from anyone today as big seas were crashing on the beaches. Grumpy's Tackle in Seaside Park reported the rain stopped early and seas were rough, but fishable. However, John Green told me there were no reports of fishing activity all day -- though prospects are good with a switch to calming northwest winds. Grumpy's had 25 bass on the scales Monday plus three blues -- but none today. Jay Amberg noted big swells and discolored waters in the Spring Lake area, but said water temperatures remained high at 52 degrees. While most party boats have stopped seeking stripers and blues, Capt. Dave De Gennaro is counting on those west winds to provide suitable boating conditions for even smaller boats, as he's ready to get back to sea for stripers, blues, and even school bluefins should they show inshore. He'll take individual reservations on his Hi Flier from Barnegat.
