El Nino has provided us with the nicest possible March weather, but few anglers seem to be taking advantage of it. An exception was Capt. Joe Massa, who got his My Three Sons in the water at Morgan Marina yesterday. He only had a few sand worms and mussels, but gave flounder fishing a short try off Morgan with no success before running across the bay to check Round Shoal. There he found readings of bunkers on the bottom, but didn't try to net them. Capt. Howard Bogan has room on Saturday's 1 a.m. limited cod trip of the Jamaica from Brielle. The fare is $165 for the trip which will return at about 6 p.m. At this point, the weekend weather looks fishable -- even if not as warm as the record-setting temperatures of mid-week. Bogan has added a 50-to-90-mile wreck trip for Friday, April 1 at 10 p.m. to fish on Saturday. Call 732 528-5014 for reservations on these sailings.  The Golden Eagle from Belmar will resume fishing on Saturday and Sunday, March 19 and 20.
