A good crowd is expected tonight at 7 in the Red Bank Library to discuss the proposed Sandy Hook Bay Marine Sanctuary which would put fishermen at the mercy of the federal government in some of our most important local waters. Considering that President Obama shut down the national parks in 2013 over a dispute with Congress over the national debt limit, that doesn't appear to be a very good deal. It was a lot worse in Florida, where recreational fishermen and charter skippers weren't allowed to fish in Everglades National Park. I'll be at that meeting in the Red Bank Library at 84 Front St. -- and will report further in tomorrow's blog.
