As noted yesterday, there was a rare window of opportunity this morning when the north wind went calm before switching to a hard south wind in the afternoon. Yet there were no reports until I got a call from California. Gary Quon, of Tady Lures, had received a photo of a nice striper that Cat. Derek Bielitz of B&D Charters in Highlands had caught while casting a Tady #45 Mint Halogram metal jig in Raritan Bay.
Though sea conditions were good, there were no party boat reports. Unfortunately, there were gale warning up for south winds offshore as this was written -- and it appears it will be windy every day through Monday.
