Captain's Focus

I left the dock today just past the breakwater and Holy #@%^ Birds everywhere and not a boat on them. I thought it was going to be a slaughter the life looked that good. Well it wasn't we caught some but not even close to being good It lasted about 45 minutes and it was over . Started heading out not sure what way to go It sounded like whatever was biting early had stopped. I got to the point of the hook where the ocean starts and I could see it was not a nice ocean the wind was pretty hard out of the NNE. I had gotten a report of lots of fish in the Hudson River. After yesterdays circle jerk I figured why not, it would be nice and calm and usually there are big fish there it was worth a shot.. Well I made the run and yes the life was there but the Stripers were 15 inches. we made a couple drifts and left. Found some more bird life as we searched  but very fast moving. At one point there was white water with Stripers all around the boat and we caught one. We ended up with nine stripers we kept.At least today everyone saw them they were just hard to catch. Tomorrow actually looks like a nice day with not much wind. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day they start to bite better. See you soon, Capt. Rob
