Captain's Focus

11/17/16: The opening day of blackfish was a beautiful day! We finally had a nice weather-wise day. The blackfish didn’t know that this was their big day, they didn't shown up to their own party! Fishing was slow but as the day went on we managed to catch about a dozen keepers and three keeper sea bass and of course on the very first wreck we catch a nice 20-inch fluke! Released, of course. That really tells you how warm the bottom temp is, around 60 degrees. Blackfish are still inshore and on the rocks but they will leave as soon as the water temp inshore drops. The pool winner Wednesday was John Berchini of Union Beach, NJ with a nice 6.2-lb blackfish. Also, Alex Oliszewski of Waretown, NJ was our high hook with three keepers.

The CAIII will be sailing this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (weather permitting). Also Thanksgiving week we are sailing Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We do carry green crabs and clam on board for bait. If you're not sure about the weather, please go to Weather on our home page and hit Inshore Forecast. If you're still not sure you can text or call me directly at 856-313-5493. Also during this time of year, there sometimes are stripers in our way on the way home which we do stop on from time to time, so bring a spinning rod and jigs, just in case! See you at sea!
