Captain's Focus

The weather may not be perfect on Sunday, but it should be fishable for boaters heading offshore. There was an error in last night's blog, as it was the Big Mohawk from Belmar that reported Friday's blackfishing was good with a pool winner of 8 pounds. The Ocean Explorer from that port also plans to sail for tog tomorrow. The Jamaica from Brielle had another good catch of jumbo sea bass and porgies from far offshore wrecks on Wednesday. Some blues were also caught, along with a few cod up to a 10-pounder that beat out a 6-pound sea bass for the pool. There's room on a newly scheduled trip sailing Wednesday at 11 p.m. with a fare of $180. Call 732 528-5014 for reservations.
