Ron Santee of the Fishermen from Atlantic Highlands said he had the worst possible conditions on Raritan Bay with a west wind against an incoming tide -- but his anglers still managed to boat a pool winner. Grumpy's Tackle in Seaside Park reported bluefishing has been good with the west winds. Blues in Barnegat Bay are hitting both bunkers and poppers, while those in the surf are on bunker chunks. Metal and bucktails work best in Barnegat Inlet. There were 12 weigh-ins from Tuesday ranging from 6.6 pounds up to a 37-inch , 13.1-pounder by Evan  Walizer on bunker. Betty & Nicks reported a 20-pound bass was caught Monday on bunker, while Paul Gresko caught a 26-inch bass plus nine blues up to 13 pounds on bunker today.
