The weather was right, and the fish were biting as most of the fleet of 151 boats fished Day 4 of the MidAtlantic. There were new leaders in two categories, but Taylor Jean from Brielle survived again with the 72-pound white marlin from the first day that could be worth over a million dollars  though they did so by a mere two pounds as Texas Tea weighed a 70-pounder to take over second place. Goin In Deep from Fort Lauderdale brought in an amazing double of leaders as their 184-pound bigeye took the tuna lead from Big Dog's 126-pounder for a potential $542,004 -- and their first eligible blue marlin of the contest (400-pound minimum) was an "unbeatable" 680 pounds worth a possible $721,826. Yet, that blue barely survived when Let It Ride weighed a 677-pounder -- just three pounds short! There were lots of yellowfins weighed, including five by Flying Fish from 48 to 64 pounds, Caitlin had a 72-pounder, and both Conspiracy and Polarizer weighed 70-pounders -- the latter as the last fish on the scale at 8:52. There will be another big fleet on Friday with all those leaders in their sights. The dolphin leader is just 23 pounds by Speculator. Wahoo have been missing, and the 67-pounder on the first day looks good for Contrail. I'll have the unofficial results Friday night.
