While striper fishing has been very good in the Highlands Bridge area, the same thing has also been going on to the south. Matt Slobodjian sent the following final report from Jim's Tackle in Cape May: The store closed up for the winter yesterday & we should reopen the end of March. The striper bite is still very good on the troll. The best this week was an afternoon bite off of Corson's Inlet and Townsend's Inlet. The fish were outside the three mile line early until the tide change when they came inside. The bite was excellent on mojo rigs, bunker spoons, and umbrella rigs. Next weekend the temperature is supposed to plummet to a high in the 20's. That could send the fish packing so this is the week to get out there while the fish are still here. This week is also the last shot at sea bass for the season and there are still plenty of fish on the 20-30 fathom line wrecks. Blackfish are in about 70-90 feet of water although some of the charter boats reported a slow down last week but it seems to have picked back up this week.
