Captain's Focus

Fluke, Seabass, and Tuna

by Capt Ted White 20 August 2017

The fluking was ok Saturday, even with a not so good drift. We didn't have anything real big, up to 4 lbs, caught them on jigs and regular squid/spearing combos. There are some keeper seabass to be had as well to fill out the catches.

Today we went off for an inshore tuna trip, our friends at NOAA were a little off, again. The breeze that was supposed to lay down early didn't lay down until almost 3pm. Never the less, we didn't have any luck with the tuna, all the action came from false albacore. Some of the boats that stayed out later in the afternoon did find a few yellowfin and bluefin.

We have set some dates in September for open boat tuna trips, check our calendar for the dates.
