Captain's Focus

June 20th 2014

Picked and scatched at the Fluke this week.  Pretty slow for the most part.  HOWEVER, we did see a better showing of them this afternoon.  Shorts along with a few keeper Fluke up to 5 1/2 pounds came over the rail.  We did have to pick through the sand sharks and skates but was able to get a few to bite.  Anglers using the squid/spearing combo did the best and we did catch a few on bucktails and gulps.  With the warmer water in place, we should see an improvement over the weekend!

Bluefishing still remains slow.  We have been riding all over the ocean looking for them but it has not worked out for us so far.  The past couple of nights, I seen a lot of bait and a few of the smaller Blues swimming on top but could not get them to bite.  Tonight, I did see the bigger ones swimming on top but had the same results. Eventually, there gonna gang up and start biting good again.  We will keep doing our best to find them!!!!  Going to take a ride offshore Saturday night and hopefully bump into them!
