Captain's Focus

Caught the end of the tide & the change just right yesterday, worked a piece of bottom catching one, two keepers a drift until conditions went to hell.

Landed 18 beautiful keepers with a bunch of shorts with Lennie's Niece making the rack with 3 keepers to start the day! Took a ride to get out of the hard out going current, found good life once again and slugged away the rest of the day with very good action. Plenty of shorts and several more keepers.

Today we had way too much current to start the day and drifting at 2.1 knots with a boat load of customers is not a pretty picture in my book.

I worked several area's with better conditions always looking for the Bigger Fluke. Snags, Rocks and Mussel beds, trying to get it done. Fishing the Ocean, the clarity has been awesome these past 2 days as the runoff is finally starting to dissipate, more bait finally starting to show on the bottom, better late than never in my book.

Keith Horens fishing in the Bow today found one at Five Pounds eleven ounces to take the daily pool and just miss the lead in the monthly by 4 ounces! He also landed 21 short fish by days end. Still waiting on some more quality fluke to appear, guess they didn't get the memo that it's July 5th already!

The rain BS in the forecast for Saturday is for late afternoon. We will be at the dock by then, come on down and have some fun.
