Following are the results of Saturday's Fluke Tournament as submitted by the JCAA. There were two doormats weighed, both at the Sandy Hook port. Several valuable prizes went unclaimed when even a mere "keeper" could have won them.  20th Annual JCAA Fluke Tournament - Final Results August 2nd, 2014 732-506-6565 jcaa@jcaa.org Web page http://jcaa.org/ JCAA 20th ANNUAL FLUKE TOURNAMENT PORT PRIZE WINNERS Come to the Awards Ceremony at The Holiday Inn in Manahawkin Wednesday evening, August 6, 2014. Come early to register (4 PM to 7 PM). Drawing starts promptly at 7:00 PM. The 20th Annual JCAA Fluke Tournament took place on August 2nd. Weather conditions were tough but some outstanding catches were made. The Tournament had 285 boats competing in 9 ports. The bad weather caused us to have the lowest number of entries which means the participating boats had the best chance ever to win a port prize. The 10 port prizes are listed below. The largest fish weighed in was 11 lbs. and was caught by Roman Nelson from Matawan, NJ and weighed in at Sandy Hook. Tom Trembula of Cookstown, NJ had the smallest fish qualifying for a port prize weighing in at 2.10 lbs weighed in at the LBI port. All the winners from each port are listed below. The Sandy Hook port had the largest fish and the largest average total weight. This annual tournament provides funds to help the Jersey Coast Anglers Association continue its fight to protect the marine resource, fund summer flounder research and fight for the rights of the recreational angler. JCAA deals with many issues. Currently, we are fighting to get the pots off the reefs, seismic testing, fluke regionalization, sand mining of our offshore lumps and jetty notching. The Holiday Inn in Manahawkin is the host for the 20th Annual Jersey Coast Fluke Tournament Gala Awards Ceremony. The Holiday Inn invites tournament entrants to come and enjoy their facilities both before and after the awards ceremony and the Holiday Inn will give 10 percent off your dinner bill for those who choose to eat there. You can meet JCAA Executive Board members and representatives from our sponsors. This is your chance to win the boat, motor and trailer Grand Prize. In fact, 16 of the last 19 Grand Prize winners did not weigh in a qualifying port prize fish in the tournament. Someone from your boat must be present to win the Grand Prize and any of the dozens of great door prizes. We want to thank all tournament participants and especially our sponsors for making the tournament a success. Our nationally known sponsors include West Marine, Interlux Yacht Paint, Costa Sunglasses, RJ Marine Service, The Fisherman Magazine, Yamaha, Canyon Reels and Boat U.S, The $1,200 First Place Port Prizes were sponsored by Fisherman's Headquarters (for Long Beach Island), South Harbor Marina (for Barnegat Bay), Hoffman's Marina (for Manasquan), Liberty Landing Marina (for Jersey City), and RJ Marine Service (for Cape May), and the remaining ports by the JCAA. Jersey Coast Fluke Tournament T-shirts and hats will be on sale as long as supplies last. The JCAA Fluke Tournament GRAND PRIZE Registration will be at the Holiday Inn. Follow the signs to find the registration site. We will be in the Ballroom. Registration is between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM. At least one person from your boat must be in attendance at the time of the drawing in order to win a prize. We expect a wonderful turnout. Please come early. Please bring your registration affidavit to save yourself time at the registration desk. There will be a cash bar in the room. All winning numbers will be announced in the ballroom. We will also be distributing the port prizes for those in attendance. The registration desk will issue one ticket which is good for both the Grand Prize and for the door prizes. We will also be holding a 50-50 raffle. We really appreciate both your participation and patience and are sure everyone will have a great time. 10 PORT PRIZES JCAA 20TH ANNUAL FLUKE TOURNAMENT 1st PLACE $1200 2nd PLACE TICA ROD STRIPER SERIES WISA 63HI & HS-15 CANYON REEL 3rd PLACE TSUNAMI AIRWAVE ROD & CANYON DJR3500 REEL 4th PLACE TSUNAMI CONVENTIONAL ROD MH661 & TSUNAMI STAR DRAG REEL TSSD 2000L & TSUNAMI SAPPHIRE 701 MH ROD & TSUNAMI BAIT SYSTEM REEL 5th PLACE COSTA SUNGLASSES AND COSTA BACKPACK 6th PLACE INTERLUX PAINT MICRON CF 7th PLACE TOW BOAT U.S. GIFT CERT. 8th PLACE 2 DINNER TICKETS TO JCAA SPORTSPERSON OF THE YEAR DINNER 9th PLACE $100 WEST MARINE GIFT CERT. 10th PLACE 2 YEAR SUBSCRIPTION TO THE FISHERMAN MAGAZINE & MASTER ANGLER SERIES BOOKS 2014 JCAA Fluke Tournament Winners HERE ARE THE WINNERS FOR 2014 * Denotes optional cash category 1.
