Merry Christmas to all my readers. Here's hoping you'll find a great fishing gift by the fireplace and lots of lures in your stocking!
Capt. Scotty Hilliard said he was all alone in the ocean today with his Prowler V from Atlantic Highlands, but blackfishing was good in 70 feet with the northwest wind. The largest tog was almost 10 pounds on the boat's digital scale. That was in contrast to Sunday's trip in a south wind which produced very few blackfish in a rough, wind against tide situation. Hilliard has a Christmas morning trip from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
