Blackfish continue to bite well. The Big Mohawk from Belmar reported good fishing Saturday, with tog up to 9 1/2 pounds. An 11 1/4-pounder was boated during the week. The Dauntless from Point Pleasant reports a mix of ling, tog and a few cod on daily bottom fishing trips. Average catches are 10 to 20 a man. Grumpy's Tackle in Point Pleasant reported a continuation of good action with small stripers in the surf, primarily on teasers.
