Last night, Captain Scotty had the boat out again and we headed back to where we left off Wednesday night. We arrived on the grounds to only find minimal readings. Found a decent reading and drifted, only producing a few fish. We then moved inshore and caught a few more handfuls of fish. Made another move a few miles down to the South and it was game on! We were holding 4-6 on at a time and at one point we even had 10 fish on. Few limits were had and average was 8 fish a man. The biggest fish of the night was 17 lbs.
This morning, Captain Lenny fished 11 miles NE of our inlet. It was super fishing from the get go catching 4-14 lb blues all on jigs. We had some really good drifts that lasted a half an hour and then it died out once the wind came. Overall, it was a good day of fishing aboard the Miss Belmar. Our pool winner was Shane Lock from Sussex, NJ with a 14.5 lb blue.
