Captain's Focus

May 31st, 2012

Last night, Captain Scotty had the boat out for some of the best night fishing we have seen yet this season. We fished 12 miles NE of our inlet. Started the night out drifting and had fish on immediately. We held 2-5 fish on for a while and around 10:30 p.m. the fishing died off so we made a move and restarted the drift. It took some time to get the fish started again, but once we did we were again holding 2-5 fish on. High hook on the night ended up with 26 blues keeping only his limit. Out pool winner was William Cassella with a 15lb blue.

Today, Captain Lenny fished 5 miles ENE of our inlet. It was very hard to see bird life or fish on top as it was very foggy. We stopped on a few good readings and some of the stops the fish were 30 feet thick and they were feeding on sand eels. There was a big spread of bait and fish and all jigs worked today. Most everyone limited out and it was another day of super fishing all day long! Our pool winner was Dennis Newcombe from Wall, NJ with a 16 lb blue.
