Captain's Focus

May 28th, 2012

Saturday morning on the Tropical Adventure, fishing started out good as we had a few keeper fluke within the first few minutes of the very first drift. Then the drift and winds changed and caused the fishing to slow down. We ended the morning with a few keeper fluke, as well as, a few black sea bass. Our pool winner was Kasey Bumber of Bradley Beach, NJ with a 3lb fluke.

In the afternoon, the winds and seas picked up which made holding bottom a little more difficult. We caught very few fluke and a sea bass.

Sunday morning, fishing had improved over Saturday. We started out the day with dog fish everywhere. Not what we were trying to catch. We caught nearly a dozen keeper fluke and even more black sea bass. Our Pool winner was James Kang of Tappan, NY with a 3 lb fluke.

Sunday afternoon, fishing was a little slow again. We did catch several very nice size fluke and black sea bass. Joe Flanning from Lynchburg, TN caught a 4 lb fluke and our pool winner was Gordon Warren from Shelbyville, TN with a 5 lb fluke.

Yesterday, the black sea bass bite was ON! With calm winds and seas, they were coming over the rail. We had quite a few keeper sea bass and many shorts along with several fluke as well. John “Dude” Dudak caught some nice keeper sea bass and some throw backs. Our Pool winner was Karl Dienes of Whiting, NJ.
