Captain's Focus

May 13th, 2012

Yesterday mornings trip we caught the blues real good along with some stripers. The 4:00 p.m. -10:00 p.m. trip was very successful with the blues. We caught them all on jigs but no stripers. We had a tough time finding bunker so we jigged all afternoon catching blues up to 10 lbs. Our pool winner was Gustavo Diaz with a 10 lb blue. Today, Captain Scotty started off catching bait a mile from our inlet. Although the bait area was broad, the bait did not want to cooperate so we left and went jigging. We caught the blues up to 12 lbs and we picked away at the stripers catching 18 keepers with some being over 30 lbs. High hooks had over 15 blues keeping only their legal limit of 15. At the end of the day, some people had 15 blues and a striper or two. Our pool winner was a 42 lb striper. Overall, the weekend fishing was a vast improvement. As the water continues to warm, the fishing will only get better.

AFTERNOON STRIPERS EVERY FRIDAY, SATURDAY & SUNDAY FROM 4:00 P.M. - 10:00 P.M.
