BOTTOM FISHING

CHARTERED SUNDAY OCTOBER 5    

Sailed out of the dock this morning to a glorious day, bright sunshine, blue skies and warming temperatures, it felt like a summer's day. Had to check out some of the spots, and started the day off with a lot of nice sea bass, but alas, they all had to be returned as their season is closed. We did put together a fair catch of porgies, mostly nice size, and some trigger fish. All and all, a decent start to what I think is going to be a good porgy year.

Just a note that the fluke season ended pretty much the way it started. I feel it was not a good season, though we did get the bigger fish, there just were too few, did the 1/2 inch size increase make a difference in the smaller fish, probably.
